Life on The Farm
Little River Ranch
The Little River Ranch is a historic farm located in the heart of central Texas. As a commercial backgrounding yard, the farm was developed with the infrastructure to handle thousands of cows at a time. However, the Running R team has converted this diamond in the rough into a world class wagyu breeding and development facility.

Home Grown Feed
At Running R Cattle, sustainability and quality begin with the land. Nearly two-thirds of our farm is dedicated to agricultural production, with a significant portion under pivot irrigation, ensuring consistent and efficient water delivery to our crops. This investment in infrastructure allows us to grow a variety of nutrient-rich commodities right here on the ranch.

Managed Nutrition
Daily Ration
Nutrition is the cornerstone of healthy growth and premium beef quality. At Running R Cattle, we partner with Dr. Jimmy Horner of Protocol Naturals to develop a scientifically backed, custom feeding program for our Wagyu bulls. Every ration is carefully formulated to meet the specific needs of each animal, ensuring optimal development, marbling, and overall health. By combining expert oversight with our homegrown feed, we deliver consistent, high-quality nutrition from start to finish.

Fresh Water, Always Accessible
Clean, fresh water is essential to animal welfare and performance. Our farm is equipped with automated water systems that ensure every animal has constant access to cool, clean water—no matter the season. These systems are regularly monitored and maintained to support hydration, digestion, and overall well-being. It's one more way we prioritize the comfort and health of our herd.
Handled With Care
At Running R Cattle, we believe that how an animal is treated directly impacts its health and the quality of its beef. Our cattle are handled with patience, respect, and low-stress techniques from birth to harvest. We use quiet handling systems and gentle routines to minimize stress and promote trust. This commitment to humane care not only improves animal welfare—it also enhances meat quality, making a difference you can taste.
